Salty bites of ham are the perfect contrast to sharp cheddar cheese in this easy, crowd-pleasing skillet casserole. In this recipe, egg noodles are added to the classic pairing for a mac n’ cheese meets ham-and-cheese mashup that makes a simple, but satisfying dish even the pickiest of eaters will enjoy. This ham and noodle casserole is a great way to transform leftovers into a whole new meal.
Step 1
Cook and drain the noodles according to the package directions. While the noodles are cooking, heat the oil in a 10-inch skillet. Add the ham and onion and cook until the onion is tender.
Step 2
Stir in the soup and milk and heat to a boil. Reduce the heat to low. Add half the cheese and stir until melted. Add the cooked noodles and stir to coat. Season to taste.
Step 3
Top the noodle mixture with the remaining cheese (the heat from the noodle mixture will melt it). Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving, if desired.
