Here's a favorite from Italian fairs and festivals that's so easy to make at home.  Simply combine the ingredients in a baking dish and throw it in the oven.  In less than an hour, you have a scrumptious dish to be enjoyed by all.

Ingredients

  • 2  pounds sweet or hot Italian pork sausage, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 6  red new white potato, cut into quarters
  • 2  medium green bell pepper, cut into 2-inch-long strips (about 3 cups)
  • 1 package  (8 ounces) mushrooms
  • 1/2  of a large sweet onion, sliced (about 1/2 cup)
  • 2 cups Prego® Traditional Italian Sauce or Tomato Basil Garlic Pasta Sauce

Instructions

  • Tips

    • For a Heartier Meal, serve the sausage mixture on long sandwich rolls.
    • Serving Suggestion: Serve with steamed and lightly buttered broccoli spears. For dessert serve frozen strawberry yogurt.
  • Step 1

    Stir the sausage, potatoes, peppers, mushrooms and onion in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish. Add the sauce and stir to coat.

  • Step 2

    Bake at 400°F. for 30 minutes or until the sausage is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.
