Creamy Tomato Beef & Shells is a comforting pasta dish that combines ground beef, cheddar cheese and pasta shells with our Creamy Tomato Sauce with Ricotta. Seasoned ground beef adds hearty flavor, while the pasta shell's curved shape captures pockets of the creamy sauce in every bite. Perfect for weeknight dinners, this pasta delivers a creamy, cheesy twist on Italian American classic dish.
Step 1
Cook and drain the shells according to the package directions, reserving 1 cup cooking water. While the shells are cooking, cook the beef in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until well browned, stirring often to separate meat. Pour off any fat. Add the onion powder, smoked paprika and garlic powder and cook and stir for 1 minute. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 2
Stir the sauce in the skillet and heat to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium. Add the cooked shells and the cheese and toss to coat. Heat until cheese is melted, and mixture is hot. For thinner sauce, stir in some of the reserved cooking water.
