This one-dish recipe for Chicken Parmesan Casserole gives you all the flavor of chicken Parmesan but without the work. Tender chicken? Yes. Melty cheese? Yes. Crunchy breadcrumbs? Yes! With this baked chicken Parmesan recipe, everything, including the uncooked chicken and pasta, goes right into one dish. The sauce is the key ingredient- the pasta and chicken cook in the sauce, saving time and prep and adding tons of flavor. We used Prego Creamy Tomato Ricotta Cheese Sauce, but Spicy Vodka Sauce will work, too. It's comfort food that is so quick and easy you can make it anytime.
Step 1
Heat the oven to 400°F. While the oven is heating, stir the panko and oil in a bowl.
Step 2
Place the chicken into a 11x8x2-inch baking dish and sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Add the sauce, broth and rigatoni to the baking dish and stir to coat. Cover the baking dish.
Step 3
Bake for 40 minutes or until the chicken is done and the rigatoni is tender. Uncover the baking dish. Sprinkle with the cheeses and the panko mixture.
Step 4
Bake, uncovered, for another 10 minutes or until the panko mixture is golden brown. Let stand for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with the basil before serving, if desired.
