If you're looking for a baked ziti recipe that's better than the rest, try this one...it gets unique and delicious flavor from the blend of three cheeses.
Step 1
Cook and drain the mostaccioli according to the package directions. While the mostaccioli is cooking, heat the oven to 400°F.
Step 2
Season the beef with salt and pepper. Cook the beef, garlic and onion in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until the beef is well browned, stirring often to separate meat. Pour off any fat. Stir in the sauce.
Step 3
Stir the beef mixture, cooked mostaccioli, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, the ricotta cheese and Parmesan cheese in a large bowl. Spoon the mixture into a 13x9x2-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
Step 4
Bake for 20 minutes or until the mixture is hot and the cheese is melted.
