Tips
- Serving Suggestion: This simple basting sauce also makes a zesty dipping sauce for chicken wings or nuggets.
- Ingredient Note: We develop our recipes using a 4-to 5-ounce skinless, boneless chicken breast half per serving. However, there are a range of sizes available in-store, from the butcher counter to the meat case and the freezer section. Use whichever you prefer- just follow the recipe as written above for the best result. If you're using larger chicken breasts they may require a little longer cooking time.
-
Step 1
Stir the picante sauce and barbecue sauce in a small bowl. Reserve half the picante sauce mixture to serve with the chicken. Use the remaining mixture to baste the chicken during grilling.
-
Step 2
Season the chicken as desired. Lightly oil the grill rack and heat the grill to medium. Grill the chicken for 15 minutes or until cooked through, turning and brushing often with the remaining picante sauce mixture. Discard the remaining picante sauce mixture.
-
Step 3
Serve the chicken with the reserved picante sauce mixture.
